What will change in the life of Belarusians from April 1, 2023

Weekend

This year, the main spring religious holidays are in April. Radunitsa is April 25 (Tuesday), which means that Belarusians will work Monday April 24 on Saturday April 29. In total, April will give workers 11 days off.

Economy

The National Bank continues to reduce the refinancing rate. This year, this event was celebrated on January 23 and March 1, after which the figure was 11%. On April 3, another reduction to 10.5% will take place.

Cash acceptance

If you need to deposit an amount equal to 50 or more basic units to the account, then the cashier at Belarusbank, Priorbank and MTBank will ask you to present a passport or other identity document. For reference: 50 b. V. are equal to 1850 Belarusian rubles.

Attention to applicants

Anyone who is about to take a centralized exam this year for the first time needs to register. The registration procedure starts from today and ends on April 20. The first exam will take place on May 14, and the next one on May 21. Reserve dates May 23 and 25.

For dog breeders

Owners of potentially dangerous breeds (Pit Bull Terrier, Doberman Pinscher, etc.) will have to fork out from April 1. The tax will increase to 55 rubles 50 kopecks. For breeds not included in the list, the tax will increase to 11 rubles 10 kopecks.

At the same time, the tax on chipped and sterilized dogs will be reduced, but this is in separate areas.

Parcels

For another six months, an increased limit on duty-free import of goods into the territory of the EAEU will be in effect. Until October 1 of this year, duty-free import for individuals is valid according to the old norms (€ 1000 and 31 kg) for goods transported by mail, baggage (except for air transport) and on foot.

Fishing

Until May 30, fishing is prohibited in Minsk, Minsk, Grodno and Mogilev regions. This was done in order to preserve the fish population in the reservoirs of the republic. Only amateurs can fish, with one rod (spinning), with one hook, during daylight hours and without entering the water.

By train to Arkhangelsk

BelZhD opens a new route from Minsk to Arkhangelsk. Trains will run from 22 April. The travel time will be a little more than 50 hours. A ticket for a reserved seat and a compartment will cost 257 and 362 rubles, respectively.

By plane to Perm and Kaluga

Nordwind Airlines (Russia) and its regional subsidiary IKAR are launching a flight to Perm. From April 2, you can fly from Minsk on Thursdays and Sundays. Travel time is about 3 hours.

Severstal Airlines will start delivering passengers from Minsk to Kaluga and back. But so far only on April 2 and 6 – only 1 flight is scheduled.

Smoking will become more expensive

If automobile fuel began to become cheaper in the spring, then tobacco products traditionally and steadily rise in price. The next increase in prices is expected by about 30-40 kopecks. Prices will change for 200 brands of cigarettes.
