Polish pilots of combat helicopters transferred to the border with Belarus will not hesitate to use their weapons in case of danger.
This information was announced on August 3 by the Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Poland, General Marek Sokolovsky, at a meeting with the head of the country’s Ministry of Defense, Mariusz Blashak, in Bialystok.
Sokolovsky’s speech was broadcast by Polish television.
What the general said
Sokolovsky said that the day before, combat helicopters of the Polish Air Force were redeployed to the border with Belarus.
In case of dangerous events at the border, helicopters are armed, ready for battle, – said the deputy head of the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces.
He noted that the pilots of helicopters transferred to the border received combat experience in Afghanistan.
They are experienced, and if something dangerous happens, they will not hesitate to use weapons, – said the general.
Blaschak specified that the helicopters of two brigades were redeployed to the border.
I am glad that we have such experienced pilots with us, – said the head of the Polish defense ministry.
According to him, the crews and weapons of the 1st Air Brigade of the Ground Forces and the 25th Air Cavalry Brigade are on the border.
