The head of the German Defense Ministry said that Berlin could decide to supply the F-16 fighter jets requested by Kiev.
The military does not exclude that the position of the country’s leadership on this issue may change, but the final point will be made only after 2 weeks.
The head of the German Ministry of Defense, Boris Pistorius, announced his readiness to give an answer regarding the supply of combat aircraft to Kyiv within two weeks, TASS reports citing sources.
According to the official, the German specialists are currently in the phase of “rethinking”.
They need to test what Berlin wants and what it can realistically provide to Kyiv.
At the same time, it became known that the possibility of supplying Taurus long-range cruise missiles was excluded.
Recall that at the end of May, Joe Biden at the G7 summit in Hiroshima said that the West would start training Ukrainian pilots.
It was about obtaining the skills to control the VI generation fighters, including the F-16 requested by Kiev.
