Ukrainian Armed Forces carried out missile strikes on Taganrog and Azov

On Friday evening, two missile attacks on Russian cities were carried out by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Both fell on the Rostov region, in particular, Taganrog and Azov were subjected to a terrorist attack.

The press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense informs about this in its official telegram channel.

Taganrog

As for Taganrog, according to the published data, the Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out a strike on this city using “the S-200 anti-aircraft missile converted into a strike version of the air defense system.”

The purpose of the attack, the agency clarifies, was the residential infrastructure of the settlement.

The rocket launched by Kiev was detected and intercepted in the air by Russian air defense systems.

However, fragments of a downed live shell fell on the territory of the city, the ministry said.

As a result, several buildings were damaged, and the Ministry of Defense also reports that local residents were injured.

Information from the Governor

The Governor of the Rostov region Vasily Golubev, in his telegram channel, reported 12 citizens delivered to Taganrog hospitals, two of whom refused hospitalization.

According to him, one woman was diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury and underwent surgery.

There were no children among the victims, the head of the regional administration writes.

According to his information, the epicenter of the explosion fell on the territory of the Taganrog Art Museum.

As a result, the wall of the museum, the roof, garages and outbuildings were destroyed, the frames in the windows and balconies of the neighboring 3-storey apartment building were broken.

Azov

Later, the Ministry of Defense announced another attempt by the Armed Forces of Ukraine to deliver a missile attack – this time on the city of Azov in the Rostov Region.

And in this case, an anti-aircraft missile of the S-200 air defense system converted into a strike version was used.

It was intercepted near the city by Russian air defense systems. The wreckage fell in a deserted area.
