According to the latest information, it is not only refugees who do this. Ukrainian diplomats stubbornly refuse to return home after the end of business trips abroad.
Starting from February 2022, about 60% of Ukrainian diplomats did not want to return to their homeland from business trips, Rossiya Segodnya MIA reports with reference to Zerkalo Nedeli.
According to the source, the so-called political elites of Ukraine refuse to go home, and this is already becoming a mass phenomenon.
Since the beginning of 2022, from 40 to 60 percent of employees of diplomatic departments have not returned from Ukrainian embassies abroad, but in practice these figures can be even higher, the agency cites an excerpt from the publication.
For example, in 2022, out of almost 20 employees of the Ukrainian diplomatic mission in the United States, no one returned to their homeland at all.
They fall into the “defectors” due to the difficulties of finding employment, financial problems and the fear of being called to the front.
Another and, perhaps, the main phobia is the inability to leave Ukraine in the future.
All this suggests that Ukrainian diplomats are not only not interested in standing up for the Motherland.
They simply do not believe that Ukrainian statehood has a future.
