Banks are checked for chips, other damage or rust. Covers should not be bent, scratched, crooked.
I wash jars and lids in soda or soapy water with a brush until they are in perfect condition. For washing, it is not recommended to use chemicals that are poorly washed out with water.
Banks can be sterilized in boiling water, microwave, steamed in a slow cooker or double boiler, over a saucepan, in the oven.
Each hostess chooses for herself the most acceptable option for sterilizing containers. Consider one of the simplest.
Sterilization of jars in boiling water
We put clean jars in a large saucepan with the neck up and put the lids next to it.
Pour water into the pan so that the jars are completely in the water.
Bring the water to a boil and sterilize the jars for 20 minutes, then place on a clean surface and let dry completely.
