7 bacteria-rich kitchen items we often forget to clean

Cleaning the house will be a pleasant activity for only a few people, it requires a lot of time and energy. Next time you’re cleaning the kitchen, pay attention to these seven things. They are most often not cleaned well enough or at all!

1. Pot lid handles

After diligent cooking, the pots are thoroughly washed. But what about those covers? Often people do not pay enough attention to their cleanliness, especially the cleanliness of their handles. Pot lid handles, if not washed thoroughly, can harbor many different bacteria that can end up in food.

2. Perforator

Everyone washes the tube after use, right? Bits of food and dirt can get stuck in its small holes, making it an excellent breeding ground for bacteria. Therefore, it is important not to rinse the colander under running water, but to soak it in water for at least 15 minutes. In this way, you will really get rid of all food residues and the colander will be perfectly clean!

3. Kitchen cabinets and refrigerator

When cleaning the kitchen, we often clean the kitchen cabinets and the refrigerator very superficially. It is these areas that should be given special attention. It is important to regularly dust the kitchen cabinets and the top of the refrigerator. Why? If too much dust accumulates there, it can end up in the food. Who wants to enjoy a meal with dust added!

4. Broom

It may seem strange to clean the object with which we clean the house. But in order for the house to be really clean, it is necessary to clean the broom as well. Different unwanted and unnecessary things can get “stuck” between the broom bristles. Therefore, by sweeping the house, we can not only make it a little cleaner, but at the same time we can also make it litterier. So clean your broom once in a while!

5. Waste container

The garbage can is the best place for bacteria to breed. It is important not only to take out the garbage regularly, but also to clean its container. From time to time wash the waste container with soap and water, also use a disinfectant for better effect.

6. Door handles

Although doorknobs may look clean when you look at them, they are not. We touch them with both clean and dirty hands. Therefore, it is important to clean them regularly so that dirt and bacteria do not accumulate on them. Once in a while, wipe them with a damp cloth and spray a disinfectant on top!

7. Knife holders

It is only natural that in small and narrow places, such as in a knife holder, bacteria and dust “live”. Although we often do not think about it, it is recommended to clean knife holders not only from the outside, but also from the inside.
