In Belarus, drivers were allowed to travel abroad without a “green card”

From now on, Belarusian drivers can travel outside the republic without presenting a green card.

The innovation is provided for by the Decree No. 240 “On International Motor Insurance” signed by Alexander Lukashenko.

According to the press service of the President, the document is aimed at regulating relations for the insurance of vehicle owners traveling abroad in the context of Belarus’ withdrawal from the Green Card international insurance system.

It is this decree that cancels the requirement for Belarusian drivers to present a certificate confirming the existence of a Green Card insurance contract when traveling abroad.
