Traffic to Greece has been intense since early Sunday morning.
“Focus” reports over 3 km of traffic jam on the road to the “Makaza” checkpoint.
Crossing the border with Greece itself is also slow. There is a queue of cars at the “Kulata” checkpoint and at the “Makaza” checkpoint at the exit for cars.
Here is the traffic at the borders as of 10:00 a.m.:
The border with Romania: The traffic is intense at the “Vidin” checkpoint, the “Oryahovo” checkpoint, the “Nikopol” checkpoint and the “Kardam” checkpoint for exiting trucks.
An additional roof structure is being installed on the two end routes of the “Vidin” border crossing at the exit and at the entrance to Bulgaria. Traffic is redirected through the remaining routes using traffic signals.
Crossing through the joint border crossings “Kainardja”/”Lipnitsa” and “Krushari”/”Dobromir” takes place according to the agreed working hours from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The border with Greece: Traffic is intense at the “Kulata” checkpoint and at the “Makaza” checkpoint at the exit for cars. Only cars and minibuses can pass through the border points “Makaza”, “Zlatograd” and “Ivaylovgrad”.
The border with the Republic of Serbia: The traffic is intense at the Kalotina checkpoint at the entrance and exit for cars.
In the area of the “Kalotina” border crossing, construction and installation activities are being carried out in connection with a contract for the reconstruction and modernization of the checkpoint. The activities require a temporary narrowing of the road lanes and a reorganization of the movement of passing vehicles.
During the holidays, those traveling by car should take into account that the temporary organization of traffic before and in the area of the border crossing point may extend the crossing time.
The border with the Republic of North Macedonia: Traffic is normal at all border checkpoints.
The border with the Republic of Turkey: Traffic is normal at all border checkpoints.
